How often will you email me?
Only when there is news worth telling you on the topics you picked, such as a published pay award, back pay dates, a pension increase or a rule change. There is no fixed schedule, and some months there may be nothing.
Is it free?
Yes. Some emails mention our calculators and paid tools where they are relevant, but you never have to buy anything to stay on the list.
Where do the facts come from?
From official sources: the Prison Service Pay Review Body and HMPPS pay notices for pay, the Civil Service Pensions scheme for pensions, and GOV.UK and HMRC for tax. We link the source in every update.
Are you part of HMPPS or the POA?
No. Prison Officer Pay is independent and not affiliated with HMPPS, the Ministry of Justice, the Prison Service, the POA or any other union. For your own case, speak to your representative or establishment HR.
